| The aim of this work was to select progenies with high adaptability and stability from the dry rubber yield (PBS), of genotypes from a three-year-old rubber tree population, installed in three different locations (Selvíria, MS, Votuporanga, SP and Colina, SP), by the MHPRVG (harmonic average performance relative breeding values) method predicted by BLUP. The progenies were installed in a randomized block design with 30 treatments (progenies), three replications and 10 plants per plot, with spacingof 3.00 x 3.00 m (Selvíria, MS) and 1.50 x 1.50 m (Colina, SP and Votuporanga, SP). | O objetivo desse trabalho foi quantificar a dissimilaridade genética entre progênies de P. caribaea var. caribaea para identificar genitores divergentes, visando gerar genótipos mais produtivos e avaliar a variabilidade total por meio de alguns caracteres fenotípicos de importância comercial. Assim, um teste de progênies de P. caribaea var. caribaea foi implantado em delineamento experimental látice 10 x 10 triplo, com 99 progênies e uma testemunha comercial em Selvíria, MS. | The present study aimed at estimating genetic parameters and variability among and within provenances for silvicultural traits of Handroanthus vellosoi (Toledo) Mattos, in provenances and progenies test stands, located at the Luiz Antônio Experimental Station (São Paulo State, Brazil). The test was established in the compact family block design, with two provenances (allocated in the plots), six replicates and sub-linear plots of five plants, totalizing 35 progenies. | The present study investigated myrtle rust and gall wasp from non-commercial eucalypt taxa with potential to hybridization. We selected 38 genotypes from 18 species of Corymbia and Eucalyptus (Symphyomyrtus) genus. Two rust inoculations were evaluated using inoculums from rose apple and eucalypt, and natural gall occurrence in a high pest infestation condition. Corymbia was more susceptible to rust than Eucalyptus genus, and it was observed severity variation due to the sources of rust inoculum. Species that belong to Exsertaria and Transversaria (Latoangulatae) sections were more susceptible to gall wasp, and Corymbia species showed no development of gall. |
